FAQ (that no one actually asked):
Q: Why did you take the site down?
A: I didn't think anyone was actually reading it, and needed to be able to post things to the index without people seeing it. Also I don't think having that up benefited anyone, and this way I save bandwidth.
Q: How often are you developing?
A: I develop whenever I am in the mood, and can get some free time. I do atleast something once a week.
Q: Who are you hosting with?
A: I am currently hosting with nearlyfreespeech.net as their pay-as-you-go system allows me to develop on the cheap (and allow my other 'devs' to develop) without worrying about managing a server. If the site ever takes off to an extent where I'm paying more than 6$ a month, I would probably get an account at dreamhost.com and if that won't meet my needs hostgator.com
Q: What will this site be once finished?
A: In the words of someone else "it would be like one of my favorite photography sites, myfourthirds.com but much better on that site, the small dedicated community all know each other and comment on each others work, and can submit documents to be viewed on the main page, but that's about it you need to be able to give a community like a means of communicating beyond the conventional art site comments or pms so that you will want to go even if you have nothing to submit or perhaps if you don't even want to view any art" I hope to include: contests, profiles, a message board style thing, groups, ratings, tags, comments, pms, collaborative works, 'feeds', and more
Q: Do you actually have people helping you?
A: In a way yes, I have about two people helping me, with hopefully one more. They aren't like, collected together and working with each other, they are more like helping me in certain aspects when I need it.
Q: When do you expect the site to be done?
A: Hopefully by the end of this year (2008) I'll have some kind of an open beta.
